You’ve got to love yourself! People often forget this though…

We take care of our kids and our family, we make sure there’s always groceries in the fridge, we commute to jobs we don’t love. We always make sure everyone and everything around us is OK, but what about you. Who is making sure you’re OK!?

Self-care means you’re taking time for yourself without apology. Doing things for yourself that will help you feel your best & be the absolute best version of you that you can be. Taking time to love your body, your mind & your soul!

When I first quit my job and became an entrepreneur, I didn’t have the 9-to-5 routine anymore… When I wasn’t at an event speaking, I was home. So, there wasn’t much to get ready for. Also, my income wasn’t a steady as it used to be, so I felt guilty spending money on myself. I got my hair done less, and stopped spending money on things that made me feel good.

 

At the beginning 2018, I made a funny New Year’s resolution. My New Year’s resolution was to take better care of myself. It was as simple as brushing my teeth and washing my face every morning and every night before I went to bed. You guys are probably thinking, “You don’t already do that!?”, But let me explain…Of course I brush my teeth and wash my face, but to be honest, it’s a lot of work for me to do these things… So, if I end up falling asleep on the couch watching movie, I have to work my butt off just to get upstairs to get to my bed. I skipped these things pretty often. And it actually made me feel pretty shitty.

 

With the help of Pure + Simple, I am taking better care of me. Self-care is whatever you want it to be. For me, taking an Epsom salt bath after I go hooping with my girls, will make it easier for me to walk the next day. Seriously though, the arthritis in my hips and ankles do not love exercise so just doing the simple task of taking a bath, will help me feel even better the next day. It’s taking the time to wash my face and moisturize before bed. It’s going to lunch with a girlfriend. For my mom, it’s snuggling up by the fire and reading a good book. For you, it maybe going for a pedicure, or it could be as simple as getting a massage or facial.

 

I’m hoping to do many more of these videos to encourage self-love and self care. Until the next one I want you to always remember to take some time for you. You’re worth it! Pamper yourself, love yourself. You are beautiful, inside AND out!
